Recommended VideosFar and away the greatest thing to come out of Stranger Things season 2 was the brotherly bond between Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo) and Steve Harrington (Joe Keery), everyone’s favorite babysitter. Together, they tackled Demodogs and teenage angst like few others have, so it’s small wonder why Netflix subscribers simply couldn’t get enough of Dustin and Steve’s often hilarious dynamic.
But BossLogic has gone one step further to imagine Keery as the young Negan, the current big bad of AMC’s The Walking Dead. Indeed, Negan’s origins story has been a constant point of fixation among the show’s impassioned fanbase, so it’s fun to imagine someone as young as Joe Keery wielding the barbed-wire baseball bat and blood-red scarf – you know, even if AMC winds up selecting another actor for the role in the not-so-distant future.
It’s been a busy week for BossLogic, too, after the renown concept artist rendered Jude Law as Mar-Vell (AKA Doctor Walter Lawson) ahead of the Captain Marvel movie. Negotiations between The Young Pope actor and Marvel are said to be ongoing – ditto for Ben Mendelsohn (Star Wars), who’s been tipped to play the leader of the Skrulls – though the addition of Jude Law would certainly be a major coup for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Getting back to Negan, though, and The Walking Dead showrunners have vowed to explore the character’s backstory at some point in the future. There have also been rumblings that Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s antagonist has a history with Madison Clark, lead character of Fear The Walking Dead, which would play into AMC’s planned crossover quite nicely.
But now that the portal has been closed and the residents of Hawkins have been saved for another year, Stranger Things has quietly retreated from the limelight. A third season is surely on the cards, though Netflix is yet to make it official.
